Re: Downdraft ventilation – Brit models?

Hi,

I came across this forum query after doing a web search for downdraft ventilation systems.

I’d like to know if you have an update to the reply posted in 2004 as I’m currently planning a new kitchen and it would suit one of these type of ventilation units. We’re hoping to have an induction hob in an island under a vaulted ceiling and therefore a chimney type island hood would really spoil the look (and be messy to fit). I’ve seen a Wolf downdraft extractor in the kitchen design magazines but am struggling to find any info about them in general.

Are there any other manufacturers selling countertop extraction units in the UK now (am happy to pay up to £1000 if necessary) and if so who would you recommend and are there any key problems with installation that we should be aware of?
