Hello all.
I connected the 2 thermostat cables together and selected wash program and pushed on button. Pump started then water solenoid filled water level then heater started..Put thermometer on door casing where thermostat was and opened door when 65 degres was reached.Opened door & water was very hot so i disconnected the 2 thermostat cables & closed the door .The dishwasher ran through the complete cycle & switched off.
White Goods could not supply the door thermostat for my machine neither could Zanussi main spares in Maidenhesad who said the thermostat was now obselete.
A local repair shop quoted me £70 !!!I purchased an equivalent thermostat from RS Components Hounslow for £5.84 + VAT
Bent the wire thermostat holder to fit the new one and connected the 2 cables.
Dishwasher now works as new now.Thank you for the initial info which gave me instructions where to locate the problem.
OBSELETE ???? RUBBISH

Hello.
I have the same problem with my Zanussi DW 908 not heating the water,
I have removed the door thermostat and it is open circuit ( no continuity) accross the 2 contacts.I have connected the 2 thermostat cables together breifly to see if the heater works and it did start to heat up the water so i switched it off..
Previously the washer completed all of the wash cycles but with cold water only.
Having read the rest of this post is it possible that by connecting the 2 thermostat cables together I am telling the timer that the machine has reached temperature and told the timer to carry on.
I am confused about whether the thermostat should be open or closed circuit..Please help.
