    Thanks for your feedback, reluctantly have ordered replacement (Miele). It’s a disgrace that manufacturers appear to be on downward spiral regarding product quality and life expectancy. I guess that is where the profits are made. Perhaps legislation should be introduced to halt the slide into the throw away society we are rapidly becoming.

    Hmm, spend £200 and run risk of it not resolving the issue, or cut losses and spend circa £600 for Miele machine currently on offer with a 5 year guarantee. Disappointed as ISE 10 had 10 year guarantee (until company folded) and design lifespan of 20 years. Our first washing machine and tumble dryer lasted nearly 23 and 25 years respectively (Zanussi). Replaced the motor brushes at least 3 times. Replacement Zanussi washing machine needed control boad replacement in first year (warranty) and then motor failed c. 2 years later. Miele appear to be one of the few manufacturers making machines to a decent standard with corresponding longevity.
