Re: Ariston FV 37 GB oven door

    Hi

My machine was an Ariston FV34DGB Fan Oven.

After removing the Oven Door as described elsewhere on this website, I needed to remove the Front glass panel to re-secure the inner glass panel to the door frame.

There are 4 screws securing what appears to be a retaining strip across the bottom of the door. Remove those four screws. (note they also retain the Door Hinge mechanisms).

Now place the Oven Door on a flat surface with the inner surface facing down so you are looking down at the Front (outer glass) and hold the door firmly by the metal bits (I clamped the protruding bits of the hinges in a B&D Workmate Bench).

Carefully apply sideways pressure to the glass at the very top (i.e. try to “slide” the glass out of the top). The glass sits in a groove across the top and there is a little blob of silicone sealant at two points (assumably to stop the glass rattling). By applying a sideways force, you are not bending the glass so it should not shatter/break, and only use enough force to break free of the small blobs of silicone. It doesn’t take much – thumb pressure was sufficient in my case, the blobs of silicone were about 0.25″ diameter.

Once the glass starts to slide free, the two silicone sealant blobs are detached from the glass and it is free to be lifted off.

    Simple!

    Cheers

Ahh – found it – Just registered for the Shop@ and seen it on the spares list.

Now all I need to do is figure out (or be certain) how to get the front glass off

Through these forums I found out how to remove my door from the oven but I cannot figure out how to seperate the outer door so that I can buy Ambersil Glue to re-seal it. I am able to remove the screws at the bottom of the door near the hinges but it still remains fixed at the top where the handle is. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. 😀

Double Doh! here – I have done exactly the same. Did the advice work for you on getting the glass out and where did you get hold of “Ambersil Glue” (I assume that is heat resistant Glue).

    Many thanks.
