thanks but its not that in the front of the fridge at the right hand side there is a plastic cover ytou remove and inside there is a sensor very similar to a reed switch

more than likely door lock but the door handle pin could be out at one end if you look on the inside of the door above and below the door hook you will see 2 small holes look carefully to see if you can see the metal pin if you can you need a door lock
