    I found the brown wire to the pump is live when the machine is off as FastandPro suggested. Do I assume the triac is blown as proposed by FastandPro, as the pump still works when I set the washing machine to spin (but no spin of course)?

    The pump has a resistance of 32 ohms. I had a service guy come and repair the washing machine some years ago when the main power board died. He blamed the pump for causing this to happen and replaced the pump when he replaced the board. I still have the old pump which also has a resistance of 32ohm. When I replace the triac, should I also replace the pump?

    ps I double checked the fault codes and they were as I said:
    00000 100 with the low water light lit and
    00010 000 with high and low water level lit.
