ParticipantRe: Hotpoint DF61 Stops halfway!!!
Yeah, I soon discovered that they’ve built it from the ground up, so gave up on the ‘dismantling’ idea after 4 screws and 2 panels
Ah well at least I tried. 😕
Further experimenting with the ‘fault’, shows that it always stops exactly at the same spots on the ‘mechanical timer’ (around 3/4 the way through main wash), so I don’t think it’s a stat or a pressure switch or anything like that as I’m sre there would be a slight variation each time.
If you click the dial just slightly, it then continues on for a while before stopping again at exactly the same spot before the rinse cycle. `
When it stops, the thing is silent there is no buzz or whiring in the timer at all, as if it’s finished the job.
But again by clicking it just a notch on into ‘rinse’, it works fine and continues on to the end of the program as normal.
I checked futher and all the pumping in and out seems to occur at the right place and times. There is just this issue of it stopping twice mid wash and if your not there to click it on it just sits there.
Perhaps it’s just a faulty timer (though I guess thats a fair few ££££’s).
Thanks for the information and advice iadom
