    Re: Weird circuit board fault

Thanks Martin, That confirms my suspicion that there is a faulty part causing too great a draw of current from the pcb causing it to overheat. Will check out the pump first.

    Whirlpool dishwasher ADG644BR Type WIC

I have had a local engineer out twice to my whirlpool dishwasher type ADG644 and he can’t identify the fault.
The machine pulses when programme first starts. It sounds like the pump is energised to empty the machine and starts to fill only for a second and then repeats every second or so for several minutes. Eventually the machine fills but again the filling is in pulses. This occurs on all programmes at the filling stage but all other aspects of the programme work fine. The engineer said it must be the pcb so I removed it and took it to an electronics engineer. When I removed the pcb I noticed scorching around five diodes in the centre of the board. the electronics engineer said too much draw on the diodes had caused the overheating but could find nothing wrong with the pcb and said the diodes were o.k. Has anyone any idea what would be causing the problem. I dont want to spend £140 on a new pcb if it is something else causing the problem.
