Re: Electrolux Semi-Integrated ESI 6104 Not Emptying

Put it all back together and it still just hums! No blockage, dual pump spins ok, but I don’t know whether it works. maybe the plastic blockage burnt the pump out? Teeth on impeller are 25-30{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} worn down and the plastic freshener cover that was stuck in the pump looks pretty well chewed, but it is quite fragile thin plastic. Any tips on how can I test the pump?

OK,I’ve cleared the minging water and detritus at the bottom of the d/w. Nothing obvious like a build up of food or anything but the pump was fouled with the remains of the soft plastic dishwasher freshener container, the type that hangs from the basket. White plastic impeller blades show damage and chipping but rotor turns easily. I’ve pulled the dishwasher out of the counter (shame I didn’t know about the rear foot adjuster screw at front & centre before I carved up the wooden floor to make room!), removed the waste pipe from the pump and blown through – no restriction. Have removed the main recirc pump from the centre of the sump base which looks like this one:

With all the restrictions removed I plugged the d/w back in and tried to run any programme that would spin the motor but the machine just continued the humming noise, in fact having just tried without the pump installed it makes the same noise. So it must be another pump? Does this model have a separate drain pump and if so where is it, ‘cos I can’t see it anywhere!

    Any help gratefully received.

Thanks Caveman, lower plinth and door cover removed, but with a view to replace the machine. Having looked at the forum and a few you-tube videos I figure it’s worth an effort to see whether I can repair it. I’ve sorted a couple of washing machines before but not a d/w. I’ll check at the weekend and update for the forum.
