    Found and solved the problem

The main heater relay on the PCB – It cost a whole £2.45

The original part “Finder 45.61” replacement “Finder 45.71” the replacement has a higher temperature rating than the original hence the number change.

If your handy with a soldering iron this could save you the £70 call out + £130 for a new PCB, or even the £50 some are being charged to repair said item.

    Oh for a wiring diagram…………… 😥 😥

The door thermistor seems only to report the maximum temperature reached during the cycle therefore has no influence on the Heater operation.

(The heater element works fine – Having put 240V across it, it heats up)

Is there a flow switch in the circuit? Or any other kind of condition/operation that needs fulfilling before the heater operates?

Apart from the obvious, like door lock, power on, overtemp not tripped.

Contary to popular belief there is no door Thermostat unless its that invisable kind that cowboy service engineers change and charge you a
    fortune!!!!!

This post has been read by almost 2500 people and still no one can come up with an answer…………..hum!, maybe no one knows the answer or is willing to tell more likely!!

Re: Diplomat ADP 8224 Dishwasher E3 error

Did you get the problem fixed?

I have the same…..Tested the Heating element 25.6kohms so OK
Tested the thermostat in hot water it switches

But the heater element doesn’t get hot

any other clues? I have of yet not looked for the thermostat in the door, but guess where I’m off to now?

The cycle completes in 45 mins and the water temp changed from 18.3 to 20.5 Deg C, but thats probably because of the circulation pump and not the heater element. or just natural convection from the surrounding air.
