So grateful for the fantastic advice on how to restore power to w/m. Came back from holiday last Sat with loads of washing to clean. Wife filled m/c and pressed on button but no power! I checked the obvious things but no joy. Then googled and found this very helpful thread. Removed power PCB and sure enough diode D7 allowing current flow in both directions.Purchased new one for£2.75, fitted and m/c powered up and went through a full cycle with no problems. Not only saved £££ but also time as we live rurally and it’s difficult to get an appliance engineer to attend. Thanks again.
