My other half has seen a second hand miele for around £700 i think. We have no space for separate units unfortunately.

Me again, the shop no longer stocks the fan motor, i haven’t ordered one yet.
I tried a program without the dryer and am now getting an error code, 4 flashing green lights plus rapidly flashing red door lock light. Looking at the fault codes it seems i havefault 15-Dryer element relay on board not working
Check wiring
Check electronic controllerI have good earth
The problem occurs too on rinse and spin programs within around 5 seconds of starting, but fill program works ok.
Have i knackered the board too?
Do i need to look at your list of recommended new washer/dryers? 😉January 3, 2014 at 8:04 pm in reply to: Indesit widxl 126s washer/dryer not drying as good as it was #407041Robertus P

I took the assembly apart to check for fluff n stuff within the fan housing, but it is clean.
I took the fan blade off and the spindle is not freely spinning.
So that and the high resistance (60 ohms) suggest a new motor needed.
But now the machine won’t switch on for some reason. All i did with the main pcb was to disconnect the dryer connector, test for continuity and reconnect. I have 240v into the machine.
This is turning into a bit of a nightmare 😉Edit; Panic over, the on-switch suddenly decided to work.
The motor is definitely getting stuck when idle, without the fan blade attached. so it is new motor time. Can i get the part from ukwhitegoods? I couldn’t find it in the spares section.January 3, 2014 at 3:40 pm in reply to: Indesit widxl 126s washer/dryer not drying as good as it was #407037Robertus P

I tested continuity of the cables anyway and they are good.
The fan blades dont spin “very” freely, hardly make a complete turn. I dont think they touch the fan housing at all, although there is play up and down of about 1.5mm. Might be the bearings. Is the fan wheel bolted to the motor? therefore disassembly of assembly needed?
Are you sure 45 Ohms? (makes it a 1.28KW fan :eeek:January 3, 2014 at 3:13 pm in reply to: Indesit widxl 126s washer/dryer not drying as good as it was #407035Robertus P

Not sure what you mean by “good circuit”, i am getting 240V across the fan motor terminals almost immediately after switching on the drying cotton program. The fan does not want to start until i manually turn the spindle with the corner of a screwdriver.
Good info though 😀January 3, 2014 at 2:31 pm in reply to: Indesit widxl 126s washer/dryer not drying as good as it was #407033Robertus P

Many thanks again iadom,
I managed to clear out the condenser. The nut and bolt accessed through back panel just kept spinning so couldn’t get it off, had to use a coathanger and a long flexible grabbing tool i had, but got a lot of stuff out.
After reassembly, the fan is not switching on. the resistance is 60 Ohms (4A 960W it seems ok)and there is 240V to it. The fan wheel seems to turn around ok, so is not jammed. I can manually start the fan by turning the spindle on the top of the motor but I think the fan motor needs replacing.
I found a fan motor for £71.25 (espares), but I can’t seem to get the old one off. Do i need to take the assembly apart? I think so, but will wait for delivery before trying this.
Also I noticed that the element is on but, without the fan working, the assembly is getting very hot. There seeems to be a thermistor on the assembly which i suspect is faulty, because the element should surely be switched of if the fan doesn’t work, but I didn’t want to test this for too long.
Is there a part number for the thermistor?
I completely understand if this is TL:DR, and thanks again for your help so far

Thanks for your reply iadom
I assume the best way to access it is to remove the whole dryer (fan, element and tube) assembly and get to it from above?
Apart from some large cable ties, would i need replacement washers etc? Any dangers you can foresee?
I was a bit dumb before, looking for an air outlet 😳 🙂 -
