Seems it might be the PCB :(. Had the man round with his posh test equipment and it failed the insulation test.

    That’s great news.
I have booked a guy to pop over from the local white goods supplier to take a look. He has been forewarned and will bring his pat testing gear :).
I think the element was definatley at fault. I suspect it has taken something on the pcb with it though. 🙁

I will get the engineer to take a look and hopefully diagnose the fault. Then if it is the pcb I might be able to replace the faulty component and get the machine going again.

If it’s the pcb that’s gone, and I can’t fix it, it could be time for a replacment machine. Currently the pcb’s from Bosch are about £100. Plus the price of a new element, £40, plus the price of an engineer, this is begining to look expensive.

Any idea’s on other faults that could cause this ?

    Thanks

    Rob.

    Hi Andy.
Is insulation testing likley to track down the faulty component or is more for saftey (obviously also an important point). I have visually checked all the accessable cabeling and found no problems.
Where would I find the suppressor and what would a damaged one look like.

    Thanks

    Rob
