Quite right to think that yes indeed fault was not the original post, however advancing programme to empty did not do anything. After several attempts the machine will not do anything other than my original post. There is no motor rotation but as stated will not go into any programme even as before could just put something in for a final rinse it will not do anything but, Mains light on, Door lock engaging. Which is why I asked for confirmation, also lock has 3 wires attached 2 go to programmer and 1 where? a secondary safety switch/fireman switch? which is why I was after a schematic so I could trace circuits. Any ideas.

Whilst I thankyou both for your input, could I ask if there is a way of checking to ensure what you state is in fact the fault before the washing machine is dumped, as stated before I do have a meter to check voltages etc.

Cheers for the quick responses. Door does indeed lock. Full sequence of events if it would help; clothes went into machine, programme entered, turned on and machine filled, I then went out when I came back nothing further had happened.
