Thanks Jim, A service person was my first hope, I write computer code, not fix washers, but with only one in the area who can possibly fix it but unfortunately doesn’t know anything about telephones i.e. how to answer a call or return a message I’m stuck with an every increasing pile of dirty clothes…. or I can try to fix it myself. I had hoped to find a diagram to assist me but so far i haven’t found one. I’ll work it out somehow. Thanks for your assistance anyway.

HI, Thanks for all your help. When I remove the top console there is another cover below that. Where the hot/cold connections come into the machine there is also a cover above that on the inside with a screw in the centre and two on the outside. This is then conected to the rest of the panel that runs along the full length. Where the water comes in it has two things going down into it on hot and cold. Do I remove all the screws and take these covers off too or are these the valves I need to remove somehow without doing that. Sorry I don’t know the terminology so I don’t know what the motor controller or fill chamber are.

Thanks for your reply. Just where the hose connects to the machine, on the machine side of the connection there is a tiny filter. I wasn’t sure if I should attempt to take this out or not as it seemed quite secure. In any case it looks completely ok. I’m not quite sure where the valve is that you mentioned or how to get to it….
