I just assumed if the bits were not listed on whitegoods they did not sell them 🙁
how would i know what assembly would work just i was thinking it maybe easyier just to replace the lot and fix it properly if possible.
as i think i have said before it is the type with the thermal cut out under the metal shield that you can only access after removing the assembly and heating element.why is reprograming needed as the connections are all the same by the looks of it and i thought the element wattage was the same also.
or have hotpoint just made it too clever lol 🙂
thanks

is everything not listed in the online shop then?
i had looked in there but couldn’t find all the bits people were talking about.

can I not just change the whole dryer unit then with the one i found without reprograming anything?
that part number doesn’t show any on whitegood or partmaster for the fan kit. is there any other good parts suppliers?
thanks

I’ve changed the thermal cut once but its blown again so fault must be with fan/motor i’m thinking as i cannot see anything else that can go wrong. may be wrong
but i have checked the thermal cutout and it is open circuit.

well i’ve got a hotpoint fridge but they did offer to extend the onsite warranty for £35 including callout for 5 years so they dont go wrong i hope. but i never recieved the same offer on the washer wondered why 🙂
would i be right in thinking this is the complete part you mentioned?
from the image the thermo cutout is different as its on top where as mine it under the heating element.
if the below item if the complete kit think i may be best going of that?

thanks for the replies.
my machine does have the plastic fan and you could see where the fan had rubbed the alloy casing. this was why i sanded it down to stop the problem. I asummed it was mainly caused by fluff build up.
is the metal fan available as a part?
i take it these machine are not very good then?
thanks
