Thanks, Martin, first thing I did was check the motor brushes, they look fine, about half worn. I have the top off the machine and can see the cams turning when the control knob is turned, but the control knob feels odd, as if it might be disengaging at times. What do you mean by the inner control dial, as I think you might be on to something.
