The freezer is nice and cold inside, with a bit of frost. It will keep food frozen if putting frozen food in, but takes a long time to freeze food that’s not already frozen when you put it in. Bare in mind that it’s a huge order of raw minced meat in bags which will take a while to freeze understandably, but it is working to a degree. It’s just not shutting on and off on it’s own without turning the dial ourselves.

My husband has told me that when he got in from work in the early hours this morning, he turned the dial to zero and it the compressor stopped running, when he turned it back up, it only came back on at number 7. He turned it down again to zero, then it came on at 5. Does that still seem like a compressor problem or could it indeed be a thermostat issue?

O.k so we have done all of the above which has helped the seal issue a bit. We took all the food out and put it in neighbours chest freezer while we try to sort ours out. So it’s been empty since yesterday teatime, on setting number 1 and we’d done the heating of the seal. It’s still constantly running, never shuts off. Does the thermostat need replacing possibly?
I put it on fast freeze the other night for 24 hours but that didn’t help freeze the food any better. I don’t even know what number it should be on to freeze a bulk order of raw meat?
Any advice would be helpful, thanks.Sarah E

Ah thank you very much for your reply, it’s very much appreciated. We feed our boxer dogs a raw diet and bought the freezer for their food which I order in bulk. It’s more than 3/4 full and I was concerned I’d have to buy another freezer. The seal isn’t split, so I’m hoping your advice works. Thanks again 🙂
