Problem solved… Dales… you were right… the pump was blocked…

the neighbours had a blocked drain that was backing up along the road as far as our house, however, it was draining away slowly. I had checked the drains, but must have done it when the rest of the street were out (and therefore, not seen them full).

Anyway, saw them overflowing on Friday. The chap at the end of the run is an OAP who gets them cleared free by the council, so the drain clearance rodded it all out (within an hour of callout – very efficient).

Ran the dishwasher empty a couple of times, no problem at all.
