I relooked at the top spray arm and there were a couple of jets that were still blocked and this was enough to stop it from turning. As of last night it was all running ok!! 🙂

Ok, so I replaced the wash pump water is being pumped around now :).

However, I now have another problem – the top spray arm is not spinning. Water is comming out of it and the holes are not blocked. I’ve put the arm straight on, waited for a few miniutes and opened to check, and it hasn’t moved. I can also tell by the dirty marks still on the wall of the dishwasher where not wash water is getting to. I will check the feed tube but any ideas on this? Thanks.

    Hi Kwatt,
Yes I have changed the capacitor – and I think it is a start/run capacitor of this model? Sorry if I was not clear above.

So probably the motor is gone?

Hi, I checked that last night. I took the casing off the impleller and it seemed to spin freely – there was a little bit of resistence from the seal but not enough to stop it from starting. I even tried spinning the motor shaft whilst it was powered (from the rear with an insulated screwdriver on the small round metal part where the tachometer (I assume it is the tachaometer) is) to try and get it running. I couldn’t give it a big spin but did turn the shaft over yet it did not start then either.

I’m starting to think that even though the windins seem ok, they may not be under load?

    Still stumped!!
