    Well, I looked after the old one as best I could (regular cleaning, no overloading) and it did us proud. I’ll be very happy if whatever succeeds it is still going by the time I peg it…

    Ebac looks very interesting and a seven-year warranty sounds very attractive — many thanks for the suggestion.

    Many thanks — that’s very helpful. I did see the earlier thread and wondered why Miele had reduced the warranty period to two years — not exactly confidence-inspiring. I’ll investigate Ebac carefully and also have a look at Bosch and AEG although having read the manufacturer write-ups on this (excellent) site I’m not exactly inspired by either.
