Ah ha. Just worked out what it was. Just had to reset the machine which is so obvious I completely missed it. By pressing the two button simultaneously on the front of the machine, labeled ‘reset’. Doh! Seems to be running now. Just hope it drains ok.

I’ve just had a similar problem on my Bosch SRS4302 GB/04. Initially I found water in the base of the dishwasher (no external leak) it didn’t seem to be draining correctly. I did as recommended and ladled out as much water as I could, removed the filter and unscrewed the pump cover and removed a piece of rosemary stem (which I believe to be the cause) and some bits other debris. I also cleared some gunk out of what I believe to be the outflow pipe with my little finger and a small (very short) hose pipe cleaner.
I reassembled but now when I switch the machine on I just get a buzzing with no sound of the dishwasher filling up or doing anything. I notice that the pump (fan?) didn’t exactly spin freely. It does turn but is kind of springy rotation and don’t know if this is normal. Also not sure if it’s anything to do with the reset switch mentioned in this thread, but I don’t know where the reset button is, if indeed this is the problem.
Any help, tips advice, greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Update for anyone interested. The fixing screws on the heating element are indeed only accessible from the back of the oven. So you have to remove the oven. What should have been a relatively simple procedure got very annoying. The phillips screws used are not exactly of the highest quality easily destroyed when trying to remove. One came out no problem the other disintergrated so I had to take a hack saw to the head to cut out a slot and then remove it…this sounds easier that it actually was. My advice would be push really hard on the screw driver so the head of the screw doesn’t get damaged but then I’m no expert. I’ve taped up the electrical connection points and am now waiting for the replacement part, which in theory should be pretty straight forward refit. I’ve had to cut down some machine thread 4mm dia slot headed screws to refit the heating element. Total cost pf repair about £30 and some sweat (includes parts, hacksaw and hassle). Hopefully this hassle will have been worth it…we shall see.
P.S. Remember to turn the electricity off.
Good luck to any DIY repairer out there and thanks to this site which has proven to be a great resource for information an I hope quality spare parts. Keep up the great work.
