ParticipantRe: Dishwasher Props not blocked, but not spinning
Thanks for all the help. I finally figured out how to get the lower spray arm off. Once I did that I found a small threaded plastic piece that had come unthreaded. I threaded it back on finger tight and now it works again!

Well there they are!
The top picture is the pedestal with the (loose) rotating head.
The middle picture is the underside of the pedestal showing the underside of the rotating head at the top of the tube.
The bottom picture sort of shows the center of the propeller which lines up underneath the tube of the pedestal when the lower rack is closed.

Hey – Thanks for the reply! I have a digital camera. What’s the best way to get a photo available to see?
As far as the water shooting straight up, here is a better description. The water shoots straight up from the center of the lower propeller. When the lower shelf/rack is closed, the hollow pedestal attached to that rack lines up right above this stream of water. The water is supposed to shoot up the interior center of the pedestal and enter the rotating head which spins the water at pressure above the lower rack. Right now, I THINK the problem may be at the center of this lower propeller where the water is discharged.
It seems both to be too much volume of water to allow pressurization of the propellers, AND does not seem to direct the water at the correct angle up the center of the pedestal to cause the head to spin. The head is also very wobbly, so I don’t know if that is working correctly either. I may have multiple problems!
Thanks!

KevinI don’t know if there is a “joint” at the top of the pedestal? It looks to me like there is a stream of water that shoots straight up from the center of the lower propeller. This stream of water travels up the interior center of the pedestal and hits the round head of the pedestal. The round head looks like it should spin, spraying water around the interior of the dishwasher.
Is this a correct interpretation of what is supposed to happen?
As far as your description that “the upper basket needs to locate into a docking station”. I don’t really follow that. It looks like the upper rack just slides on a track. It does not lock into anything. The upper propeller that should spin over the top rack, must get its water supply from a hose in the roof of the interior of the dishwasher?shepard

There seems to be lots of pressure, but maybe the problem is with the top of the center pedestal? That is where a lot of water is sprayed out in a very heavy and uneven manner. Maybe there should not be so much watter coming out there. If there was not as much water there, then I would assume there would be more pressure in the system as a whole.
Does that make sense?
How much water should there typically be coming out of the top of the pedestal?
Thanks!
