    How French in inconsistency! Thanks I’ll muddle through now. Will not order until I can get to rating plate.

    Sure thanks for your help. I presume the rating plate will be on the back of the cooker as it’s not on the front or on any faces or indeed inside the ovens/drawers.

    Thanks for that K – yep checked oven and it’s the base element, why couldn’t it be the easy to replace top one? Any way I now need to find out how to replace it. Will it be apparent once I move the oven away from the wall and have access to the back? Cheers D

    Thanks for that. It’s not the end of the world but just a bit more work as I have to cut silicone side beads and carefully pull out between units and clamber around as there’s not much space. How do I check element failure versus thermostat failure as my original q. Thanks. D
