    It worked!!

The 90 degree tstat switch was giving open circuit at room temperature. Should be closed circuit as you indicated. The 78 degree tstat switch was OK giving closed circuit at room temperature, but got replaced anyway.

    Not it’s all working again.

    Thanks very much

Thanks. Have now got them out. 13mm socket very useful on the top.

It appears to be the 90 degree stat (the one on the right) which is not short circuit.

So basically it was telling the machine that it was overheated all the time. Strange that it allows the machine to continue working (but with no heat) therefore the controller can be moved round manually and some sections of the programme work while others don’t (the ones where it is waiting for a signal from the 78 degree thermostat that the water is up to the correct temperature which it will never get, because the faulty thermostat is simultaneously saying that the temperature is already too high).

Warning lights are on the front for low salt and low rinse aid, but not for ‘warning : the machine has overheated’. very strange.

I will order a pair of thermostats 5045-1707-3043-7, hopefully fixed tomorrow. Thanks again.

Thanks Bazza. I’ll give it a go. Do you agree this is likely to be the solution? Do these things come out easily?
