well it’s just run right through 2 cycles, with soggy washing back into the second one and it came out spun dry. I’ve cleaned the machine up and levelled it so the only disturbance is a slight jurassic-park ripple in a bowl of water nearby… thanks very much for your help! I am well up for fixing things but sometimes just a kick in the right direction if it’s something you’ve never tackled before makes the difference between starting and not bothering… reading back on my post, I realise the clue was in the not draining! Thank you, it’s very much appreciated that you take the time to answer these posts, and I can assure you that in my life with my friends, I always pass on this kind of knowledge so I may not share it online but I will help other people out in future 🙂

ah i hadn’t seen that post, although i did look at it but it’s dark in there now and couldn’t see how to unclip it easily. anyway, i found an outlet at the front which let all the water out, along with a buckle and loads of fibrous gloop, so i’m pinning my hopes on a blockage that stopped it draining properly and have put it on a quick wash to see if it runs through…

no, but i will as soon as i can get the stuff out… that makes more sense – I mean if it was the motor, it wouldn’t turn, or spin, right? and i’ve just set it to spin with water in, and so it starts to drain but veeeeery slowly for a bit then stops, switch it off and on at the same point, and it drains a bit more, and so on
thanks, will see what happens
