    Thank you very much, your technique has indeed revealed a distinct click on one of the paddles being pulled forward.

    Now for the tricky bit………..

    Thanks Phidom, this is the first time I have had any response from anyone to this query. I am going with the spider as this makes sense, i.e, a crack to this component would I guess only become eviedent at spin speeds under load.

    Okay, to induldge your kind heart just a little further, two questions.

    1, The part number 41001233, I cannot find on any search. Where do I get it and how much is it?

    2, I am going to assume that the answer to my first question is it costs a lot, so I assume the spider is a casting, hence why it cracked? Therefore could a fabricated piece of metal be attahed/bolted on to strengthen this part?
