Re: An annoying little alarm from Siemens

    Thanks Simon and Greg,
Both switches are little spring loaded buttons which seem to work fine, although I have moved the fridge magnets well away from them. It’s still beeping away BTW so IMO I should get it checked out.
    Cheers, John

Re: An annoying little alarm from Siemens

I have just discovered that if the fridge/freezer is tilted/rock the alarm goes away. Is there an alarm to tell me that it’s not vertical? I can’t imagine it and should only complain if it is upside down!
    Thanks for your advice.
PS what does IMO stand for?

Re: An annoying little alarm from Siemens

The fault occured first of all with the freezer full of food. Then we moved house, and the fridge has been empty and turned off until last week when I started to use it. Hoping that the fault was a qerky thing that happened in our last house, it really dissapointed me to discover that it started misbehaving again. Having said that, the sound has gone now, and yes I found the super had been chosen! I think my wife had been pushing anything she could find that would stop the noise! but I’m sure it will return. I really can’t see that it would be upset that it’s been empty for a week! but I’ll try with some books in there!

Re: An annoying little alarm from Siemens

    Hi Greg!
Well, I’ve just checked, it allows me to select freezer temp from -16C to -26C. I have also a Bosch KGU3102GB which is much the same beast and I never have this sort of fuss from it. Due to this, the Siemens has no food in the freezer, only the fridge, the freezer door is never opened and not not left on super.
Thanks for your suggestions, however, I have had the Siemens from new and I know that it never had this sort of problem before so it does, in my way of thinking, point to a alarm condition problem rather than trying to tell me something worth knowing.
    Cheers

    Hi Greg
Nope! not at all it’s at -16C, whilst the fridge is 8C. The sound can be cancelled with Alarm button but it will return within a few minutes. The manual only refers to Alarm condition with a visual display either the Alarm LED or the 7 segment LED which displays the temperature.
    Cheers

    Re: Blomberg 1501 AAA vibration

    Hi,
I found this forum site whilst figuring out the problem with my Blomberg 1501AAA washing machine. The drum was not turning at all. I saw the details about the source of the brushes and went to tackle trying to remove the old one’s when I discovered only one of the wires had broken off from the connector to the brush. I order to easily get access, I had un-bolted the motor from the frame of the drum. I rectified the problem with a new spade connector and bolted the motor back lining up the belt. A week later my wife had told me that the machine had ‘gone mad’ and nearly walked across the floor and fused the kitchen sockets.
I have just discovered that the two mounts that hold the motor in place to the frame had fractured sending the motor to the base of the machine where there was some water and that’s how it fused the live feed.
Prior to all this, the machine would make a noise like a diesel engine with the big ends gone when on it’s spin cycle. I discovered that the two bolts which hold the outer fixed drum to the frame had vibrated free and dropped to the bottom making a slight gap to hammer together with the vibration.
I have never had any problems in the 5 years of ownership and this has all happened a month or so after the extended service agreement had ran out! I wondering now whether I should keep going fixing it up. Are new motor very dear?
    John
