I’ve done a little more checking with the hob out on the bench.
The electrical connection diagram on the hob clearly show how to connect it for single, 2 phase and 3 phase operation .
I connected it for single phase by linking L1 and L2 as shown and applying 230V. It immediately tripped the supply and a loud ‘pop’ and spark could be seen through the ventilation slots in sub chassis. Obviously a considerable failure somewhere in the power supply.
By removing the link between L1 and L2 and applying the 230 V in turn to each…..r the connection to L2 gave the same result but the connection to L1 gave the start up beep and the indicators on the hob lit up and gave a fast disco type rolling display of ‘F’s’ and 4’s and ‘7’s.
It would seem that there is a problem with L2 power supply. The F47 comes up because the control circuit knows there is a wrong connection with no L2 connected.
How my electrician caused this by just moving the hob, I do not know?
Back to looking for the receipt to return it to Ikea for the 5 year guarantee I think.

Many thanks for the link. I intend to try it. Solved the problem by fetching a new one from Ikea…..it was essential for Christmas! This time the lead was wired single phase, so I connected it myself.They have a 5 year guarantee but require the receipt to be produced, so unless I can find it, I can’t return it.
