Thanks for your help, I fear it is the main PCB and sorry I used the word pump in the wrong context, but it seems you understood..
Would you happen to know is the PCB board could be damaged by heat/damp? The layout of our home means the machine is in a frame under our hot water tank. we dry washing in there as it gets so warm, like an airing cupboard.
we’re fearfull of putting another machine in there as this is the second in 5years, or we may have just been unlucky.
looking at Miele next!

Hi K,
we replaced the drain pump as at first we thought this was why there was water remaining in the bottom of the drum when it had finished, but it is pumps water in from the water valve immediately after the machine reaches 0.. We’ve watched it enter the soap drawer
