Re: Electrolux F/F problem Thermostat Ranco K59

    Hi Guys

Just thought that I would come back to tell you all that my F/F is now working OK , what I did was mess about with the settings on the VT9/K59 Thermo , I used my old one to see what screw ( x2 ) did what , it was the screw on the outside that raised and lowered the plate inside that operated the contacts .

I ended up turning it clockwise ( which brings the plate away from the contacts ) one full turn when the fridge was at 1C it then switched off ( yes I did get a kick when the back of my hand touched the live feed to the power neon light ) .

When the Fridge got to around 5.3C it kicked in again , then of again at 1.1C , Freezer maintained a temp of -22C to -23 .

so there will not be one F/F going to the tip earlier than it should .

Once again I can’t thank all you Guys enough for all the help/feedback I have had on this Forum .

    cheers and thanks again

    Hi

Thanks for all the posts that have been given on here , in answere to SAMURI , I dont have a problem with the Temps , as I said before the Fridge is going down to -4 and the Freezer down to -32 .

The problem I have is that it is not switching off , as I have already said before I did serve my time as a electrician and yes it is wired correctly ( attached drawing ) 6 Live feed with switch of on Knob ( past 0 anti-clock on dial ) 4 to Compressor ( this is the switched feed from 6 ) 3 is common to 6 , this gives a live feed to a line heater that is in a sleeve with the Capilary tube outside the fridge ( this is via the Compressor solanoid contact switch when the Comp is stopped ).

The capillary is atched to the back of the evaporator with a plastic clip which keeps the tube from actualy touching the plate , I was thinking if I alter the clip so that the tube will be in contact with the plate , would this help ! .

I am a person that if something can be fixed I will have a go before taking it to the council dump , it must be the Fitter/Electrcian in me , I have it on a timer at the moment as I have said before and it is working perfectly , so there must be a fix for this ( you could say well leave it on the timer ) well that maybe the answer in the end .

Anyway guys thanks for all your help .

    Hi Guys

Thanks for all your feedback , in answer to Kwatt ” The compressor could well be short cycling or stalling” . the compressor is runing all the time can here it and the Evaporator in the fridge is frozen over so there is no problem with the Comppressor ! .

In anwer to jongriffin ” if the gas doesnt reach capillary it will get too cold and run a lot” , Not sure what you are saying ! , what gas to what capillary .

    cheers

    Hi Guys

Thanks for the replies , already asked Dave and he said, Quote “2113378018 is the original part number but you can replace that with a universal VT9 ” which is what I have fitted .

The Fridge and Freezer work fine when the comp is running , so I can’t see how it can be short of gas ! .

    cheers
