Thats great advice , thanks very much for your time and help, The web is a great device for communication . 😀
I dont know how to get around the low temp. thing for the future though , funny that.. an occasional high temp wash cleans it out ? anyway , yeah i will contact a local repairer, its probably faster that way, i dont have the knowledge , although i did see a ‘haynes’ manual on washing machines in halfords the other day.
thanks all , for the help.spinnerbell

Ok , thanks for the advice , yeah mostly i do 40 degree washes..
drum supports…are they the mountings that the drum sits on ?(those kind of engine mountings crossed with hydraulic rams – to use a car analagy) Ok this is looking more like a job for someone who knows what they are doing , or do you think its possible for an amateur ? actually…I just thought, it cant be the mounts under the drum, as why would the wash temperature effect these , i guess its internal supports . how much do you reckon for an independent person to do the job… I think you may have ‘cracked’ it though …..thanks.spinnerbell

sorry mate , what i meant was running the finger along inside of drum could only possibly locate wire poking out of the holes , but i have no wire , i am just wondering why do that- the inside of the drum is smooth , the only reason for doing that , I thought would be to locate anything sticking through the holes (but I have nothing ) .
It may have to be operated on..
the banging is on fast spin only.
If I where to bet on it , i would suggest something is out of balance for some reason ,spinnerbell

I have just done another wash cycle , quick was and moving it forward a bit (no clothes in) , when the speed picks up the noise comes in. its not noisy at low speed spin. just when the speed picks up.
Could there be something in between drums ? .. the running the finger along the inside of the inner drum ribs could only locate wire poking through the holes or am I missing someting with that ?spinnerbell

Hello, re :”Run your finger along each side of the three ribs in the drum, if it is smooth on the left side of each rib but rough and dented on the right side then you may have a foreign body in between the drums. ” –
I am not quite sute what you mean here but i have pushed finger into the only area that i can think of …the rubber surround at the front , under each rib and cant feel any abnormality , seems smooth.
Regards the concrete vlock , I have taken off the bottom rear panel and it seems secure and bolted on…. the mystery continues although not sure if I have checked foreign body in drum correctly…….spinnerbell

hello , cheers , I have just pulled the inner drum forwards from six o’clock position of each of the three paddles and each time it seems like there is no play and it just moves forward on the springs, moving the whole drum forward ,and seems solid and connected. ( I do a lot of 40 degree washes and use power and liquid in the ball dispenser mostly.)

and to add… I had the top off when it was washing the last time , and the spin itself from the outside is smooth , and the sound coming from inside the drum itself , and not from the whole thing moving about as it stays fairly still when spinning. .. thanks very much.. any help is appreciated

Hello, cheers for replies .. no , there is no play in the drum and no rumbling when revolving the drum by hand.. I have just done a cycle without clothes and when at certain speed (spin) it kicks in with the banging noise.
