Re: New Bearing on Zanussi WDJ1294

Finished the job yesterday, all went in very easily, except when I forgot to put the concrete weight on the front of the drum before fitting it to the machine (which added an extra 20 minutes) apart from that there are no leaks, and most importantly no noise. I forgot how quiet the machine was 🙂

Thanks again for the info 😆

I would like to thank CambridgeDave, cwilso and the other participants on this site as it is after viewing the posts here that I attempted replacing the bearings on my Zanussi FL 1085.

I have posted on another thread, (viewtopic.php?f=34&t=7403) my experience and would like to agree with cwilso that this job can be done with a moderate DIY knowledge, as I am no expert, and some gumption to attempt the job in the first place.

So far I have spent under £40 to replace the bearings and shaft (spider) and wouldn’t dream of calling in someone for £155 (turbo) to do the same job.

OK, I read your thread and decided to attack the job of replacing the bearings….
