Not sure if the topic is still current since last dialogue on this seemed to be back in 2005. My experience with this fault is that while the AL3 alarm denotes a u/s heater element, the culprit in my case was actually the heater relay located on the door mounted control board (upper RHS when facing the dishwasher). The unit is easy enough to access and what one should look for is evidence of solder depletion at the terminals of the 230V to the PCB. The relay has six soldered terminals and in my case, the 4 terminals closest to the heater lead connection all showed signs of solder depletion. This is probably due to the load/heating which this terminal experiences. I found that the relay itself was serviceable but replaced it anyway at a cost of 59CZK (about 1.5 GBP). Dishwasher now good as gold. Hope this helps those out there who are still operating this most fine appliance!

I came across this thread the other day, as I was still experiencing ‘AL3’ alarms despite the fact that I’ve changed the heating element. I followed Mr. SK’s recommendation of having a look at the electronic board, and I could witness the same solder depletion at two terminals of the RL2 relay. I re-soldered them, and it’s working again. -
