    Re: Zanussi ZDC5350W misbehaving

    Hi
OK, had a go with a bit of wire and a small amount of gunk came out of the machine along with quite a bit of water. Had a fairly long go at it until there were no more signs of grot coming out.

Put a few damp dishtowels in the machine and stuck it on and kept an eye on the red hose near the top back left which is presumably what feeds the water to the tank and couldn’t see any signs of water in the pipe. I took the clip off and could feel warm air being pushed out of the pipe but no signs of water. Ran the machine for 30 minutes and no water made it in to the tank.

Put another few damp towels in and ran it again and started getting tank full warnings again.

Anything else it could be? Pump? I’ve seen one listed on zanussi-spares.co.uk listed as condensing pump at about £35 – is the float chamber part of the pump assembly?

Seems like it might be time for a phonecall to the John Lewis warranty people!

    Thanks for your help
    Steve

Aqualectric – thanks for that, I’ll maybe have a look at it this evening. Would a piece of fairly flexible electrical wire be OK to try?

    Hi again guys

Ok so after several phonecalls and some feet stamping Comet have agreed to replace the faulty dishwasher. The replacement is arriving on Saturday morning – they could’ve got it to me tomorrow but it was a bit short notice to get time off work just now.

Fingers crossed that all is fine with this one!

    Keep up the good work!
    Cheers

    Re: Siemens SE25T250 Dishwasher dead

    Hey Streetlighter and Martin…

    Nah, still dead 🙁

I’ve tried different mains sockets for it, still nothing. It certainly was draining out OK to begin with – it was fine doing a prewash when I first plumbed it in to rinse out any gunk.

As I say, I’ve removed the pump cover like it explains in the user guide and made sure the impeller can move OK. I’ve tried changing the connection that the inlet pipe/aquastop was connected to but still no change.

The weird thing is that occasionally if I hit the power switch it *tries* to do something because there is a *clunk* and you can see/feel/hear the cold fill pipe momentarily pressurising. Neither of the displays show anything at all now, and because I don’t think it’s getting any power to the control panel I can’t do a reset as described in the guide.

Ach well, thanks anyway guys, guess I’ll wait to see what Comet have to say about it on Monday – I want it replaced under the terms of their DOA clause and don’t really want to have to wait ’til next Saturday for someone to come out and look at it and go ‘aye, its knackered mate’.

    Cheers
    Steve
