yes you can put the machine back to controrotate..you need to change the front panel pcb to a software that is not ending in S non-contrarotate software is usually v121 v127 v131 v205 if it had contrarotate function removed the it will be either v131s or v205s if you can find a pcb that is without an S then you can do it…BUT if its been changed then its for a reason..more than likely the drum had moved or the bearing are on their way out..the software was changed to give the machine a bit more life but the enevitable is only round the corner unless you can source a new drum
