I have the same oven front as you with the push buttons. The timer is definitely replaced from the inside. If you haven’t already done so, remove the two side screws that fix the front fascia panel then slide off upwards. Lay panel on front so you can see timer. If you have a flat metal surround to the timer this is also fixed by two “star type” screws. Remove these and then you can lift/prize off the surround, but you will need to disconnect the wires first (remembering where they go). Then with a small flat screw driver unclip the timer and pull it out. Dont forget to unplug the oven first!
