Re: Neff S5443x2GB/42 Lower Arm not rotating

We’ve got the exact same model, about 6 or so years old now. I went through the same diagnosis as you and ended up at the diverter valve about a month ago.

Our fault was the spindle on the cog that spins the circular diverter disc had rounded off, it would turn part of the way, and we got erratic behaviour, sometimes only the top arm would rotate then the bottom.

Unfortunately, you can’t get just the diverter parts, you have to buy the whole heater unit – about £73 from BSH/Neff/Bosch.

    As Penguin45 says – it’s a so and so of a job.

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Hi Ian,

You’ve probably fixed this by now, but just in case you haven’t I’ve just been through the same exercise with our Neff S5543X2GB/44. Sometimes the upper arm would work, then the bottom one, then neither!

You have to get the plastic base off then you can get to the sump and heater unit. I won’t go into detail as it’s against forum rules, but it’s a good couple of hours work – well it was for a novice like me!
