Right an update.
Firstly thanks for all your help. I pulled the dishwasher out and was surprised to see that the dishwasher did not have a top on it (I fitted it and don’t remember that). Anyway it was covered in what I can only describe as insulating foam. Underneath was a “nob” that held in the spray bar. Spray bar pushed through and nob turned and then fixed. Just a shame I had to remove dishwasher to re-attach spray bar. Pictures attached.https://ibb.co/rxphkFB

https://ibb.co/bvGV4nsThanks for the reply. once you remove the paddle all there is, is a hole where the water comes out. Its not directly inline with the hole. This appears a dead end. I’ve had another look and it does look like there is a locking mechanism in the body of the dishwasher. When I get a minute I’ll pull dishwasher out and see if its just a case of removing top or if its more involved.
