    Kiwi, you are right on the money. That OOB switch checks out as open circuit on the multimeter, even when the lever is moved back and fourth.

    Fisher & Paykel “excelence” model, model nbr GW509AU, S/N NYL609882.

    the diagnostic data is this:

    0 0 0 1 0 0 1 1 0001 _ these two alternate once a second

    0 0 1 0 1 0 1 1 0011 <- these are the fast, med,slow & hold LEDs

    1 1 1 1 0 1 0 0 0101

    0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 0111
    0 0 0 1 0 0 0 0 1000
    1 1 1 1 0 1 0 0 1001
