    Hi Martin : turned out to be a dodgy double socket. The dishwasher on 2nd socket started playing up too and on testing I found the switches were playing up. Replacing seems to have sorted everything out. Thanks again!

    Ok – thanks very much Martin.

    And thanks Allsorts. The user manual says that the spin speed indicator lights show error codes, including “close the washing machine door properly”. They should also indicate motor fault for that matter, but it seemed from the link I posted above that they weren’t seeing a fault code indication…

    I’ll keep an eye on it and make sure I’ve got my facts straight, but can I make sure I’ve understood you: that if the cycle is continuing from where it left off, there must have been a loss of power to the controller? Presumably that could be outside the machine or internal (PSU or even PCB). Sorry to ask you to repeat yourself 😳
