Hi all, thanks for the replies.
After purchasing a replacement door interlock for the Hotpoint WMA 58 and fitting it, I still have the same problem.
Try to start a wash and the door lock led/light on the panel does nothing but flash!
I have mislaid my manual so cant find the fault.
Does anyone know why it is flashing? if they have a book for the same washer? Or is there likely to be another problem? or generally is my washing machine now officially Knackered?

Hi, I have the hotpoint WMA 58 for about 2 years and uses the same door switch (METALFLEX ZV-446) It seems this is a comon fault, after not having the use of the washing machine for over a week now, and only just had the time to investigate. The door lock light on the panel does nothing but flash, which indicates the door cant lock therfore wont start the cycle.
My question is u said you replaced this item. just wondered where you purchased it from? i have found it online germany for about 17euros but is there anywhere in the uk i can source one and how much did it cost?
