Re: Hotpoint WD640 – Not taking tablets from drawer

Did you mean hoton the right? I think I understand what u r saying although when I started the cycle, with the drawer completely out, the water appeared to be coming out the holes perfectly on the lhs and nothing at all on the rhs, I could even see any dribble. I know what you mean about putting the tablets in the drawer but I was annoyed by that as it should be working properly. So basically it could be the water pressure? Strange as it was working b4 but I guess pressure can change at different times? Thanks.

    Re: HOTPOINT WD640 LEAK!!

Hi, I promised to let you know how it went, so hear goes.

Was no problem to fix at all, was because the filter was blocked with black fluff, the guy said it was typically caused by bathroom mats or towels (especially new ones that give off a lot of fluff). He said usually the pump will pump through little bits but it was too much, there were some coins too but it was the fluff/gunge that was the problem, this therefore meant it was spinning when there was water in it and then throwing the water back up into the power drawer. He said the older models were better as they wouldnt work if there was water in the drum during a spin cycle, the WD640 doesnt have that (mmm, cleaver engineers)…but most importantly, I didht get charged, phew! Thank you for all your help too!

    Re: HOTPOINT WD640 LEAK!!

Ahh sorry, I thought you meant there has to be a hot water pipe going into the machine, Im not sure what the temp is for the 2 fast wash options but will check. I havent done a hot wash (ie above 70 or 80 degrees) the entire time Ive had it so Im guessing its going to be quite grimy in there and Ill have to pay some exorbatant repair bill 🙁 The difficulty is all the really hot washes are also very long cycles and I dont like my clothes being in there for too long!

    Re: HOTPOINT WD640 LEAK!!

Thank you for that, I think youre right, Ill call the repairer as Im under guarantee, its my only choice really as I dont know what the problem is. Can I ask, what impact is there as I only ever use cold wash, and was told the machine can work with cold washes, but that would have an impact with regards to your suggestion about maintenance?

    Re: HOTPOINT WD640 LEAK!!

Hi there, unbelievable that I found this on thw web so quickly. I have the same problem. When I do the 2 fast washes, either 1 hour or 30 mins (might do them on the others but dont use them), once it starts the first rinse/spin cycle is massively leaks from the bottom of the drawer. We are sure there are no blocked external pipes, the drawer is fine, doubt its the water pressure, not sure. We tested it, by removing the drawer and watch what happens, and when it spins all the water comes back up those two holes on the left hand side of the drawer compartment (looking at it wihtout the drawer in), I am still in warranty but if it is internally clogged is that my fault? It only leaks bad in the first rinse/spin, not at the end, or when it fills up. Hoping someone can help, oh, and by the way, there are no error messages at all. Thanks.
DAD TESTED THE WATER PRESSURE BY TURNING IT DOWN, AND H 20 CAME UP AS AN ERROR! IM GUESSING H20 MEANS THAT THE WATER PRESSURE IS TOO LOW, SO PRESUMABLY WATER PRESSURE ISNT THE PROBLEM???
