    Re: Hotpoint VTD00

Jim I did take that cover off and there was a small end of what looked like a funny shaped bolt (like I said I’m a computer whizz not a handyman lol) which came away in my hand. Didn’t look as if it was supposed to be connected to anything because the flat end was very smooth so it must have sheared clean off.

Is my solution one of these expensive drum kit things or just the shaft and for someone who likes nothing better on a Sunday afternoon than going out on his motorbike rather than fixing a tumble dryer – is it easy to fix?

    Thanks.

    Nev.

    Re: Hotpoint VTD00

Just a quick question on the same dryer. Now please be aware that contrary to my user name I am a complete diy numpty so please bear with me.

I have a VTD00 as well. It gets used on a daily basis. A few days ago it started making a noise and then stopped turning. It still heats but just wont turn. I took the sides off for a look but to be honest I may as well be looking down a well cause it makes no sense to me. It was covered in fluff which I cleaned out and it worked for a while then stopped again. It looked to me like the drum had fallen backwards slightly?

Does it sound like I have the same problem?

    Any advice very welcome.
