The appliance of science has now been running for nearly three weeks, the fault now seems to have changed? Both the fridge and freezer are now showing too low temperatures, the fridge nearer to Zero C and the freezer 25 to 30 C, measured on shop bought thermometers. I have tried the Control setting in the Fridge from 4 down to 1, does not appear to make a lot of difference?

Update following manual defrosting. After some 5 days with the appliance running and having had little success with the fridge section maintaining a temperature of +5C, with the various adjustments to the ‘thermostat’ control the freezer was generally at -20C to -25C. These temperatures were only measured with shop bought thermometers. Anyway the good news for the present is that the appliance of science has decided to more or less work correctly and the fridge is maintaining the correct temperature albeit the freezer is too cold. I have been searching this websites help pages for the name or the better type of thermometer to check fridge freezer temperatures. Remember reading it back cannot now find it. The joy of a failing memory.

If I explain in slightly more detail, the ice that formed in the freezer was in fact on the underside of the plastic ‘plate’ which sits below the ‘evaporator’ which is located under the top of the freezer compartment.
Apologies if this sounds like I am trying to teach something, not the case, I just think maybe I did not explain it clearly enough on my first post.
For further information, since defrosting the appliance and switching back on which was some 36 hours ago, no ice has yet formed on the plate below the evaporator. But the fridge is still struggling to get down to +5C, frost/ice bits form and auto-defrost on rear plate of fridge compartment.
Given the extra information does this change your opinion?Tracktrouble

Thanks for response, as the drain from the fridge appears to be working, where is the water coming from to enter the freezer?

Solid in freezer, powderyish in fridge.
