    Re: SMart Drive LW015 Problems

All Fixed… My Father-in-law has a grin from ear to ear 😀 He no longer has to take an hour or more to do the washing.

The Fault in the end was the motor wiring for the Pump motor had corroded and was shorting across the wiring and although it worked some of the time the thermal sensor, after detecting the rise in temperature, open circuited the power the power to the motor and the pump stopped. The fault was caused by the pump seal leaking, a very small amount of water, that over time caused the corrosion and failure of a 1cm section of the winding in the middle. Did not see it until I took off the cover from the pump motor, although I could smell the burnt wire.

Picked up a replacement pump, followed the GREAT instruction, and all was up and running in 30 minutes, including ringing around and finding the pump at 7pm on a friday night, in a small towm of 3000 people.

    Thanks for your help Penguin45.

    Thanks Penguin45 🙂
I will be going over to my Father-in-laws tomorrow. And will drop the maching on its side to gain access to the pump and see what I find.
When it pumps initially the water flow is really great, it just seems to stop and never gets the bowl entirely empty. Here’s hoping it is a Sock 😮

Any special tools required or will a selection of screwdrivers and pliers suffice?

    SmileS 😆 Steve
