Hi All,
My thinking is that there could be some underlying fault with the machine, which has affected the circuit. With regard the selector switch, that can only fit into the circuit one way, so it cant have moved out of position. I noticed this when o fitted the new circuit.
Im a bit miffed that within a month of fitting the new circuit board, this one seems to have given up, especially when after I fitted it, it worked perfectly.
I had pondered whipping it out and going over to ews and asking them to check it out, and if possible re-program it, or check the program, but if that’s only a temp fix, then I need to get to the bottom of whats upsetting it in the first place.
The frustration is that everything appears to work otherwise, in that the heating element heats the water, it spins, the door lock works and it pumps out ok.
Im about boggled now.Thanks

Could you expand on this please?
The door locks correctly, so fir example, i close the door, select a program, press the start button the door led turns constant red, machine cycles through its program, finishes, and the door unlocks, and door led flashes red.
I rotate the program selcector dial to the 12 oclock off position and the door led continues to flash red. (it should at this point go off)
If i press the start button, it jumps into a cycle, now the confusion is what cycle as the program selector is in the off position.
This was the initial fault i had with the machine. I bought a new circuit board, and installed it which fixed the problem, but now a month later it is back. I understood that the new board was programmed with updated software to stop this happening.
Hence my state of confusion. Would a door interlock fault cause this, or is it the circuit board just fried?
Again, thanks for any input

Hi All,
Again I trouble you for your thoughts…
I have fitted a new control board, and new motor with brushes.
yesterday the fault returned again, where when turned to off, the machine just flashes its door lock button, and when the start button is pressed jumps into a cycle.
Has the board munched already? or is something else confusing it?
Im completely lost for ideas now and would really appreciate your input.
Many Thanks in advance

Hi All,
Just a quick follow up on progress.
I ordered a new PCB from EWC, which arrived the following day. Superb!
I got given some new brushes for the (welling) motor by a chap i work with who overheard me on the phone to EWC and it transpires he used to be a white goods engineer for a well known manufacturer.
So new PCB fitted, New motor brushes fitted, Door repaired (the hinge rod had slipped).
Machine works properly again, turns off, and seemingly follws all the cycles we have used. Some of them take ages, which beggers the question of what cycle we have been using whilst the PCB has been wrong.
Reports from the domestic engineer and end user suggest that the clothes are cleaner than they have been, they are also much dryer at the end of a spin.
For the record, i think we must have had this fault on our machine for a good 5+ years.
My thanks are extended to everyone for the advice!

Hi All,
Point of interest. Checked out the motor brushes. Almost non existent, so some more of them will be ordered…

Hi All,
To further complicate matters, as of today the machine has started sticking during a program.
All 3 LED’s are on green, if I press the on/off button, the bottom one flashes (as per cycle paused) If I press on/off again, they all go green. Nothing happened for a long while, then it span a bit, now silence.
Did I read in a previous post that this is symptomatic of brushes in the motor?
Again, thanks in advance for your thoughts and advice.
