    Thanks Guys. All sorted. Heating element arrived yesterday – took 10 mins to fit. No fight encountered! Undoing the nut to half its length, so it stays on the thread, then pushing hard with the shaft of a hammer released the pressure enough – it just prized out easily.

    Ran a short load and working perfectly again.

    I presume you mean the one in the middle that’s the earth terminal? (this bit’s all new to me!)

    I’ve found the heater ok, disconnected it and had the multimeter across the green/blue and green/brown terminals which I presume are the ones to test – Nothing. Tried each of these against earth too and still nothing.

    I’m guessing that this is the way to test it?

    Thanks – can you point me in the right direction of the heater? photo perhaps?? I have multimeter so can test – just need to find it! Is this accessible through the “hatch” at the back?
