Re: Bosch WFF1201GB washing machine ‘stripped’ program dial

sorry about me, that is in deed and of course the right part, I’m managed to get that bit seperate from the main fascia, damn tight fit!

I don’t think the part provided earlier in the thread is the one needed.

On mine the fascia runs the full width of the machine, including the frame of the detergent drawer and the buttons on the left side of centre, apart from that it looks identical

Re: Bosch WFF1201GB washing machine ‘stripped’ program dial

Right, all good news I think, I managed to get the fascia part off and as you said, the two plastic bits that engaged with the other plastic bit threaded onto the shaft had snapped

I’ve manually guestimated a program turning the shaft by hand and it’s now washing which gets me out of short term trouble

Now, not wanting to sound cheap but would I get away with trying to glue the bit that threads onto the shaft directly onto the program selector rather than it presumably clipping on as before?

I can see it’s meant to have some play in it but there’d be a couple of bits still left to move

If I tried that and it didn;t work, would the replacement part come with the bit that threads onto the shaft as well, ie I could fit a whole new part?

it’s lovely to hear it washing but it’s not cosmetically plesing, the not entirely satisfactory builder did a very precise job of builing it into a cupboard, mains cable threaded through a 2×2 and plugged into a loose mains socket hanging from the top of the cupboard behind the dryer, and the cupboard too narrow to actually pull either machine out, had to remove a piece of trim

still, a wins a win, nearly

as for the grease accumulating and making the dial stiff, the dial moves very freely and the shaft moves ok, bit firm, can it just be wear and tear and fatigue? it has done about a million washes over 11 years and counting

so, try and glue/bodge the part?

    many thanks

I like that answer a lot better

Thank-you very much for that clarification, I’ll have a look today and £20 I think I can find

    Much appreciated

    Hi and thanks for that

good lord power off, my timidity is my greatest weakness

£200! jeez, the whole thing was £350 (quite some time ago admittedly)

I’m a little annoyed with the mother in law whose story between ‘it stuck’ and ‘it spins round’ is rather vague, ah well

thank-you, I’ll have a crack tomorrow hopefully and see what’s what and report back

    Good night
