Thanks for the details regarding resistance values. Will check the wiring as suggested. Heater checks out ok with multimeter, but want to bring my Megga home from work to try and see if it is breaking down when given a test at higher voltage.
Probably going to look on Ebay at local dishwashers also, in case one is cheaper than buying spares for ours though !!
If I ‘get to the bottom’, I shall post what findings I have made, so it may help others. Any other suggestions still welcome though.August 18, 2009 at 4:26 pm in reply to: Diplomat ADP 8332 thermostat values (washer not heating) #294910UKAndyB

I have removed the ntc (‘old’ style with 2 spade connections on it) for testing. It is not open c’ct, but a high (VERY HIGH) resistance ( in the thousands of ohm ie Kohm). What is a ‘average’ reading I should be seeing for the resistance at room ish temperature for one of or similiar to these thermostats ? These are about £40 ish, so would prefer to prove it has failed, instead of wasting money buying another. I am unable to source one to test without actually purchasing one.

Hi,
thanks for the reply
The numbers on the side of the washer are
Service 8545 002 15820
Ser 33 0320 010831the resistance does drop when the thermostat is in hot water, but in the 1000’s of ohm (K ohm) doesnt this seem a little high ?
